We just love the Duck Family Stacker by Janod. The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio loves it too - it was awarded the Gold Seal Best Toy Award. This is a toddler and preschool learning toy. Designed in France, it is made of wood and water based paint - a very eco-friendly toy and heirloom quality - not to mention just darn cute! The Duck Family Stacker is a construction game with 14 pieces that is meant for kids ages 12+ months. The 14 pieces are meant to stack, but there is so much more that can be done with this wooden toy.
The toy itself consists of a wooden oval base of natural wood. There are 10 different colored rings - all the same size - that are numbered 1 through 10. #1 is white, #2 and #3 are shades of orange, #4, #5, and #6 are shades of green and #7, #8, #9 and #10 are shades of blue. A simple duck head fits on top of the stack that matches the color scheme except for #1 which has a yellow duck head to perch atop its stack. The colors are graduated in shade from dark to light. There are many ways to sort these rings - by the number on the ring, by color, by shade, by the number of rings, etc. The first stack has one ring, the second has 2 rings, the third has 3 rings and the fourth has 4 rings. Toddlers and preschoolers learn numbers, counting, colors and more all from this simple little stacking toy. What fun! This early childhood developmental game will help your child develop hand-eye coordination as they try to stack the rings on top of each other.
The Duck Family Stacker is 9.8" x 2.8" x 5.5" when all put together. A great size for little hands and for storing on your toy room shelf. The colors are beautiful - it will look adorable out on display in your toy room. We love these multi-use toys that are quality built with alot of thought behind the design. Janod toys will not disappoint you. You will want to store them away for future generations - just too wonderful to sell at a garage sale.
