Have a Block Party!

Blocks, blocks and more blocks!  A classic and timeless toys for kids from babies to toddlers to even older.  A simple toy yet one that spurs creativity and provides hours of fun.  Wooden blocks will never go out of style and the more the better.  Block toys come in all shapes - cubes, pyramids, cones, cylinders, and more - all types of materials - fabric, cardboard, wood, plastic - all sizes and all colors.  

Wooden blocks are a fabulous toy.  They stir up children's imaginations and stimulates their love for creating things.  From towers to building to towns - they dream it and they can build it.  Block sets are great for physical development as they stack the blocks to create their master piece.  They are also great for mathematical development - they can learn to count and make counting games using the blocks.  Logical thinking comes into play for them  - will certain shapes and sizes fit on top of each other?  Language & communication skills come into place as they start to learn colors, shapes and more.  

One year at my birthday party, my Mother bought a bunch of wood pieces that were all shapes and sizes.  She set up a table with these in the center and all my friends gathered around.  We each had some markers and glue and were left alone to see what we could create.  From giraffes to houses - it was a lot of fun and so simple.
