What a beautiful toy this is! The Pound and Tap Bench by Hape Toys is bright, colorful and makes beautiful music. What more can you ask for? The Early Melodies collection from Hape Toys consists of simple instruments that encourage all kids to create their own music.
This wooden toy is painted with water based paint and has some metal parts for the music. The upper part of the bench has 3 holes in which 3 colored wooden balls - red, green and blue - nest in but will fall through when your child takes the wooden hammer and pounds them through. When they fall through, the hit the xylophone below which is at a slant and makes beautiful tunes as it rolls down the keys and out the opening on the side. The keys on the xylophone are the colors of a rainbow and has a handle on the end to pull it out from underneath the bench. It then can be played by itself again using the wooden hammer.
There are 6 pieces for this toy and is meant for children ages 12 months and up. It measures approximately 11" x 6" x 6". It also has won a couple of awards. This toy won't disappoint and your kids will have hours of fun pounding away and creating their own sweet tunes.
