Alphabet Train - A Giant Floor Puzzle by Janod

This is one giant puzzle! Janod certainly makes their floor puzzles in a big way! The Alphabet Train Giant Floor Puzzle is a beautifully designed cardboard puzzle that is fun for preschoolers to put together and also start to learn the alphabet. There are 27 pieces in all - every train needs an engine to pull it along! The pieces are big and sturdy - about 6" x 6" - very easy for little hands to grasp. When the train is all put together, it is about 118 inches long.
The engine is followed by 26 train cars - each with a letter of the alphabet and an animal in each. It reminds me of the Circus Train that used to come thru Milwaukee. The Ringling Brothers Circus was born in Baraboo, WI and years back they used to have the Circus train come thru the state during the summer with a huge parade in Milwaukee. It was an incredible parade with antique circus carts, lots of animals, clowns, bands and more. It was an incredible parade which they no longer do. It got dangerous as the teams of draft horses would get spooked and run thru the crowd. But with the Alphabet Train puzzle by Janod, there is no chance of getting hurt. This puzzle is meant for preschoolers ages 3 to 6 years.
It comes in a round cardboard hat box that is about 11" in diameter, The carrying handle on top is made of a nylon fabric and is great for bringing this puzzle along on trips. There is a latch on top that keeps the box secure - no worries about spilling the pieces.
The Janod designers are French and have such a unique way in which they create their illustrations. No cutesy pie pictures or bright primary colors for them. Although each train car has a letter and an animal, the animal doesn't match up with the corresponding letter. For instance, the L car has a monkey, the J car has a Zebra, and so forth. Preschoolers can still name the animal and they can also make the sound that they each make.
All aboard - this Giant Alphabet Train floor puzzle by Janod will become a favorite for both parents and kids.
